Heavenly Sunlight

This is what the Lord says to me: “I will remain quiet and will look on from my dwelling place, like shimmering heat in the sunshine, like a cloud of dew in the heat of harvest.”  Isaiah 18:4
I choose to walk in God's sunshine daily, I choose to sing His praises, I choose to walk in His love for I am a child of the King!
Heavenly Sunlight
by Henry J. Zelly, 1899
Walking in sunlight all of my journey,
Over the mountains, through the deep vale;
Jesus has said, I’ll never forsake thee—
Promise divine that never can fail.

Heavenly sunlight! Heavenly sunlight!
Flooding my soul with glory divine;
Hallelujah! I am rejoicing,
Singing His praises, Jesus is mine!
Shadows around me, shadows above me
Never conceal my Savior and Guide;
He is the light, in Him is no darkness,
Ever I’m walking close to His side.
In the bright sunlight, ever rejoicing,
Pressing my way to mansions above;
Singing His praises, gladly I’m walking,
Walking in sunlight, sunlight of love.

  1. Greetings from Wordwise Hymns. Your blog caught my eye because I posted an article on this gospel song today. Praise the Lord for the joy He brings to our hearts, day by day, through His Son our Saviour.

  2. The old hymns and praise songs speak to me and my heart overflows with God's glory.
