One day at a time...

We are told in God's Word to live each day to its fullness.  We are not to worry about yesterday nor tomorrow as God has already directed our days.

There is an old song that goes like this:

I'm only human, I'm just a woman.
Help me believe in what I could be
And all that I am.
Show me the stairway, I have to climb.
Lord for my sake, teach me to take
One day at a time.

One day at a time sweet Jesus
That's all I'm asking from you.
Just give me the strength
To do everyday what I have to do.
Yesterday's gone sweet Jesus
And tomorrow may never be mine.
Lord help me today, show me the way
One day at a time.
So Father God help me to take life one day at a time fully trusting in You...

Joy...

Everyday that we receive from God is a present.  We awake each morning with a brand new start a head of us as yesterday is gone and tomorrow is not here.  What we do with that day is totally in our hands.  We can choose to walk our way without consulting God and His plan for us because we are given free choice.  When we do that we are simply saying God I've got this and I don't need you today.  I have found that when I do this I really mess things up and then I give them to God to straighten out.  Wouldn't it so much simpler to begin each and everyday with our Heavenly Father, asking Him for His guidance throughout our day.

Well I don't know about you but I will choose the joy of the Lord for without God's strength I would not make it through each day.

There is an old song that goes something like this...

The joy of the Lord is my strength
The joy of the Lord is my strength

He give me living water and I thirst no more
He give me living water and I thirst no more

For the joy of the Lord is my strength

So today choose joy, you will be so glad you did...

Shadows...

Have you noticed that as long as you are walking facing the sun you can not see your shadow.  Oh it will follow you where ever you go but will not dim the sun shining on you.

There is an old song that says this...

Turn your eyes upon Jesus
Look full in His wonderful face
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim
In the light of His glory and grace.

So when shadows try to over take you, focus your eyes on Jesus as He will make them grow dim and all you will see is the glory of God shining through....

Blessings...

We are always complaining about the blessings someone else has received wondering why God chose to bless them instead of us when we should be taking a look at our own life.  When we do that we will see that God has blessed each of us greatly.  All we have to do is look around us and we see more than we ever expected to see.  Each and every day He gives us so many blessings that our cups overflow with His bounty.

There is an old song that goes something like this:

Count your blessings, name them one by one
Count your blessings, see what God has done
Count your many blessings, name them one by one
And it will surprise you what the Lord has done

So when you are feeling low take a moment and Count Your Blessings.....

Life...

Sometimes we take our life here on this planet called earth for granted.  We expect to receive all the things we want and sometimes we expect to receive them without having to put forth any effort.

God's Word tells us in John 10:10 - The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

This does not mean that we will get everything we want but that God will provide our necessities.  Who came that we might have abundant life?  Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!  He died for you and He died for me.

Then in Romans 5:17 we are told - For if, by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive God's abundant provision of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ!

Except Christ Jesus as your Lord and Savior, trust in Him to meet the needs of you and your family.  When Christ was hanging on that cross He took on all the sins of man that we might have a full and abundant life.

Trust in Him today.....

Worries & Cares

Don't let those worries and cares keep you up at night as they will only create anxiety in your life.  Give them to God, our Heavenly Father, for you are always on His mind.....

Time...

Every day, every hour, every minute, every second that we have is a gift from God.  That is why He tells us in His Word that there is a time for all seasons...

To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:  a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; a time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away; a time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; a time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace. Ecclesiastes 3:1-8

The time we are given on this planet we call earth is very precious.  We need to use our time wisely and not squander it away.  Take time to spend with our Heavenly Father, ask for His direction in your day to day routines.  Sometimes our plans for the day will change as we listen and follow His leadership.  Think of the many blessings we will receive as we wait on our Heavenly Father and put our day to day routine in His hands.....

I know I need to be more conscious of how I use my time and I pray that our Heavenly Father will show me how to use it wisely as I follow Him....

Three Welcomes...

1. Garden - There is an old hymn, In the Garden, and it is a favorite of mine.  I love this hymn as it tells me I will always find God in the garden, where He will walk with me, talk with me and He tells me I am His own.  So whenever trials come your way think of this song and talk them over with God.

2. Warmth - Not only will we find warmth by a fireside but also find it in the arms of another.  Sometimes all we need is a warm hug to brighten our day and ease our load.

3. Friend - We all have that one friend we can count on whenever the going gets tough.  We know they will not judge us but will be there with a smile in their eyes as they wrap us in a warm hug.

Blessings today as you find the three welcomes in your life...

Non essentials

In our world today we all have much more than we actually need.  Sometimes I look at all the stuff in our little piece of heaven and am reminded of the Veggie Tale Madam Blueberry, she had so much stuff that her house was overflowing and breaking down.

We all need to take a look around us and start clearing out the non essentials in our lives.  I think we will be surprised at the time and the space that will become available to do the things that are essential to our lives like; being kind, helping others, but most important the time we will have to spend more time with our Heavenly Father as He leads and guides us through each day.

There is a past...

We all have a past we cannot change.  We all have a tomorrow that we do not control.  We all have today and it is a gift from God.  Make today a great day...
