Promises Day 2

I will bless her with abundant provisions; her poor will I satisfy with food.  Psalm 132:15

Isn't it wonderful to know that God is going to bless us, His people, the church with abundant provision.  There are several scriptures of promises by God to take care of His people in their needs.  These scriptures also make another promise and that is God will meet our spiritual needs.  In Matthew 5:3-6 Jesus tells us, "Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven, Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled."

God's promises and all that Jesus did for us brings us hope.  We are given a righteousness that we can't buy or earn.  We can look forward to spending eternity with our Heavenly Father and Jesus.  Until that time comes we know that God will comfort and sustain us.  What an awesome promise!

Rock Of Ages
by Gerald S. Henderson

 Rock of Ages, cleft for me,
Let me hide myself in Thee;
Let the water and the blood,
From Thy riven side which flowed,
Be of sin the double cure,
Save me from its guilt and power.

Not the labor of my hands
Can fulfill Thy law’s demands;
Could my zeal no respite know,
Could my tears forever flow,
All could never sin erase,
Thou must save, and save by grace.

Nothing in my hands I bring,
Simply to Thy cross I cling;
Naked, come to Thee for dress,
Helpless, look to Thee for grace:
Foul, I to the fountain fly,
Wash me, Savior, or I die.

While I draw this fleeting breath,
When mine eyes shall close in death,
When I soar to worlds unknown,
See Thee on Thy judgment throne,
Rock of Ages, cleft for me,
Let me hide myself in Thee.
