Be A Sower

"The sower went out to sow his seed; and as he sowed, some fell beside the road, and it was trampled under food and the birds of the air ate it up.  Other seed fell on rocky soil, and as soon as it grew up, it withered away, because it had no moisture.  Other seed fell among the thorns; and the thorns grew up with it and choked it out.  Other seed fell into the good soil, and grew up, and produced a crop a hundred times as great."  As He said these things, He would call out, "He who has ears to hear, let him hear."  Luke 8:5-8

God tells us in His Word to tell others about the good news of His Son Jesus Christ.  He also tells us to be sowers of kindness.  Do not hesitate to share the good news with others and as you do you will also be sowers of kind words.  You never know when someone may need to hear the words God has laid on your heart to share with them.

Over the years of my life I have found that whenever a persons name comes to mind to stop, say a prayer and give them a phone call for God placed their name in my mind for a reason.

Be a sower of seeds...

Bringing in the Sheaves
by Knowles Shaw

Sowing in the morning, sowing seeds of kindness,
Sowing in the noontide and the dewy eve;
Waiting for the harvest, and the time of reaping,
We shall come rejoicing, bringing in the sheaves.

Bringing in the sheaves, bringing in the sheaves,
We shall come rejoicing, bringing in the sheaves;
Bringing in the sheaves, bringing in the sheaves,
We shall come rejoicing, bringing in the sheaves.

Sowing in the sunshine, sowing in the shadows,
Fearing neither clouds nor winter's chilling breeze;
By and by, the harvest and the labor ended,
We shall come rejoicing, bringing in the sheaves.

Going forth with weeping, sowing for the Master,
Tho', the loss sustained, our spirit often grieves;
When our weepings over, He will bid us welcome,
We shall come rejoicing, bringing in the sheaves.

Knows Everything

Why do we try to hide the things we do?  Oh we can try to hide them from our family, our friends, our neighbors but our Heavenly Father sees all.  He knows the intention of our heart but still loves us.  He loves us when we do wrong.  He loves us with an unconditional love.  There is nothing we can do that will separate us from our Father's love.  He does asks that we ask for forgiveness when we have strayed and to come to Him with a heart that is ready to repent of the things we have done wrong.

Remember when things go wrong in our lives and we feel that God is not there for us that it wasn't Him that moved it was us.  God's Word tells us that if we will draw near to Him, He will draw near to us.

Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.  Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.  James 4:8

I love the old hymn written by Cleland McAfee many years ago....

Near to the Heart of God

There is a place of quiet rest,
near to the heart of God;
a place where sin cannot molest,
near to the heart of God.
Jesus, blest Redeemer,
sent from the heart of God,
hold us who wait before thee
near to the heart of God.
There is a place of comfort sweet,
near to the heart of God;
a place where we our Savior meet,
near to the heart of God.
There is place a place of full release,
near to the heart of God;
a place where all is joy and peace,
near to the heart of God.

Encourage

We never know what the person sitting next to us is going through.  Give them a smile of encouragement as it might just make their day...
